Chamatkaar

बात 90 के दशक की होगी मैं रोज की तरह त्रिपाठी सर के यहां फिजिक्स की कोचिंग करने जा रहा था। उनके घर के पास कटघर तक पहुंच तो देखा ना जाने कितनी भीड़ जमा दिखी एक मंदिर के सामने. फिर किसी तरह से उनके घर के पास से बचते-बचाते गलियों में मैं पहुंच गया तो देखा दोस्त दिख गया। मेरे दोस्त पवन ने बताया कि आज सर की तबीयत सही नहीं है तो कोई क्लास नहीं। मैंने पूछा यार आज कुछ फर्क नहीं है यहां की गलियों में। उसने भी बोला हां कि जब वो भी आ रहा था तो देखा कि मंदिर के बाहर बहुत भीड़ है। इस समय ना तो कोई नवराते है ना ही कोई त्यौहार फिर पता नहीं क्यों इतनी भीड़ थी। तभी हमारे एक और दोस्त आ गए वाहा पे और उसने बताया कि मंदिर में गणेश जी की मूर्ति के आगे अगर दूध रखो तो दूध गायब हो जाता है मतलब की गणेश जी दूध पी रहे हैं

हम सभी को लगा कि ये तो कोई नया चमत्कार है चल के देखा जाए और हम भी कटघर के उस मंदिर में पहुंच गए। लोग बहुत ज्यादा थे भीड़ बहुत थी तो लगा कि अंदर जा पाना तो बहुत मुश्किल है और फिर साइकिल भी थी पास में। मैंने पवन से बोला कि चलो साइकिल रख के आते हैं ऐसा चमत्कार तो देखना बनता है वो भी हमारे इलाहाबाद के इस मंदिर में है। भीड़ किसी ने हमें बोला नहीं ये तो सारे मंदिर में हो रहा है और सिर्फ इलाहाबाद नहीं, बल्कि भारत में हो रहा है। अब तो थोड़ा अश्चर्य होने लगा मुझे कि ये बात पता कैसे चली लगी.उन दिनों ना तो कोई सोशल मीडिया था ना ही 24×7 आने वाले चैनल या फिर यू ट्यूब पर। समाचार पत्र आने का भी एक समय सुबह का होता था और टीवी के नाम पर सिर्फ दूरदर्शन ही था। हलाकी मेट्रो सहारो मैं ज़ी टीवी और डीडी मेट्रो चैनल आ गए थे ।

अब हमें लगा कि चलो घर जाके मम्मी पापा को भी बताया जाए। घर पहुँचे तो देखा पापा की मोटर साइकिल घर के बाहर थी। पापा ने भी कहीं से सुना था और वो भी जल्दी घर आ गए कि मंदिर चला जाए। पराग दूध की सॉर्टेज हो चुकी है दूध के पैकेट महंगे मिल रहे हैं। पापा ने कहीं से जुगाड़ तो कर लिया था। भैया ने बोला कि क्यों ना घर की मूर्ति पर भी कोसिस करते हैं। घर में पूजा घर पर गणेश जी की मूर्ति की सामने चमचे से दूध रख के देखा तो कुछ हुआ नहीं। फिर लगा कि सयाद कल्याणी देवी मंदिर जाके ही देखना चाहिए।

मंदिर मैं बहोत भीड़ थे सयाद नवरात्रो से भी ज्यादा। ना जाने कैसे उन दिनों ये बातें सोशल मीडिया से भी तेज फेल हो जाती थीं। ऐसा लगा कि पूरा शहर आज मंदिर आ गया है। मंदिर के अंदर जाना तो बहुत ही मुश्किल सा लग रहा था। लेकिन चमत्कार देखना था तो फिर लग पड़े उन लाइन्स में और आख़िरकार पहुच ही गए। दूर से दिख तो यहीं रहा था कि चमचे से दूध गणेश जी की मूर्ति के अंदर जा रहा था पर हां बहुत सारा दूध बह भी रहा था। उन दिनों ये न्यूज चैनल्स के विशेषेग्य या व्हाट्स ऐप यूनिवर्सिटी के ज्ञानी नहीं थे परंतु लोकल लॉग अपना ही अपना तर्क दे रहे थे। किसी ने बोला कि धरती एक ऐसा एंगल पे आ गई है कि मूर्तियों में कुछ हो गया है। किसी ने बोला कि प्रलय आने वाली है और ना जाने क्या क्या।

पर हम बच्चों के लिए तो बिना त्यौहार का एक मेला सा हो गया और लौटे वक्त पापा ने सबको ठाकुर की चाट खिलाई। सब ही खुश थे क्योंकि बिना त्यौहार के एक त्यौहार हो गया था शहर में।

It must have been the 90’s and as usual, I was going to Tripathi sir’s place for Physics coaching. When I reached the dock near his house, I wonder how big a crowd was seen gathered in front of a temple. Then somehow, while avoiding his house, I reached the streets and saw my friend. My friend Pawan told that today sir is not well so there is no class. I asked, friend, is there any difference in the streets here today? He also said that yes, when he was coming, he saw that there was a huge crowd outside the temple. At this time, there is neither Navratri nor any festival, so I don’t know why there was so much crowd. Then another friend of ours came there and he told that if you keep milk in front of the idol of Lord Ganesha in the temple, then the milk disappears, which means Lord Ganesha is drinking milk.

We all thought that this is some new miracle that we should go and see and we also reached that temple of Katghar. There were a lot of people, there was a lot of crowd so it felt very difficult to go inside and then there were bicycles also nearby. I told Pawan to come with his bicycle, such a miracle has to be seen and that too in this temple of ours in Allahabad. Crowd: No one told us that this is happening in all the temples and not just in Allahabad, but in India. Now I started to wonder how this thing came to be known. In those days, there was neither any social media nor 24×7 channels or YouTube. The time for newspapers to arrive was in the morning and in the name of TV there was only Doordarshan. However, Zee TV and DD Metro channels had come in metro areas.

Now we thought that we should go home and tell mom and dad also. When we reached home, we saw that father’s motorcycle was outside the house. Papa had also heard from somewhere and he also came home early to go to the temple. Sorting of Parag milk has been done and milk packets are getting expensive. Papa had managed it from somewhere. Brother said why don’t we try on the idol at home also. When I put milk with a spoon in front of the idol of Lord Ganesha in the puja room at home, nothing happened. Then I felt that I should go and see Sayad Kalyani Devi Temple.

There was a huge crowd in the temple, even more than during Navratri. Don’t know how in those days these things failed faster than social media. It seemed as if the entire city had come to the temple today. It seemed very difficult to go inside the temple. But if you wanted to see a miracle, then you started standing in those lines and finally reached there. From a distance, it was visible that milk was going inside the idol of Lord Ganesha through a spoon, but yes, a lot of milk was also flowing. In those days, they were not experts from news channels or knowledgeable from WhatsApp University, but local logs were giving their own arguments. Someone said that the earth has come at such an angle that something has happened to the statues. Someone said that doomsday is coming and what not.

But for us children, it was like a fair without any festival and while returning, father served Thakur’s Chaat to everyone. Everyone was happy because without any festival, a festival had happened in the city.
